Terms of service
Last updated: 22 August 2026
1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the LexaZM platform and website (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of a firm or employer, you confirm you are authorised to accept these Terms for that organisation.
The Service is in early access. Features change often, and we may adjust or withdraw functionality while we improve it.
2. Accounts & eligibility
You must provide accurate account information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. Access may currently be limited to approved early-access users.
3. Acceptable use
- Do not use the Service to provide legal advice to others as if it were your own independent work product without verification.
- Do not upload content you have no right to share electronically, or that violates confidentiality owed to clients or third parties.
- Do not probe, scrape, reverse-engineer, disrupt, or gain unauthorised access to the Service or its infrastructure.
- Do not misuse rate limits, share account credentials across organisations, or resell access without a written agreement with us.
4. AI outputs — important disclaimer
Answers, summaries, comparisons, and other output produced by LexaZM are generated by artificial intelligence from indexed sources and documents you supply. AI output can be incomplete, out of date, or wrong.
LexaZM is a research aid, not a substitute for a qualified lawyer. Nothing in the Service is legal advice, and no lawyer–client relationship is created by using it. You remain responsible for verifying every citation, statute version, and judgment status against the authoritative source before relying on it in any matter.
5. Your content
You retain ownership of documents and questions you submit ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited licence to process Your Content solely to operate and improve the Service — for example, parsing uploads so they can answer questions, and securing your saved citations.
You confirm you have the necessary rights to submit Your Content and that doing so does not breach any duty of confidentiality.
6. Our intellectual property
The Service — including its software, design, brand marks, and the curated corpus and metadata we assemble — is owned by LexaZM or its licensors. Source documents remain governed by their original publication terms. You receive no rights except those expressly granted in these Terms.
7. Availability & changes
We aim for high availability but the Service is provided during a beta period "as is" and "as available". We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service, and will try to give reasonable notice for material changes affecting active work.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, LexaZM is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or professional advantage arising from your use of the Service.
Our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve (12) months before the claim arose (or, if you have not paid, to ZMW 100). Nothing limits liability that cannot legally be limited, such as liability for fraud.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or create risk for us or other users. On termination, sections 4 (AI disclaimer), 6 (IP), 8 (liability), and 10 (general) survive.
10. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Zambia. The courts of Zambia have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms or the Service.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms. For material changes we will notify registered users in advance by email or in-product notice; continuing to use the Service after that constitutes acceptance.
